Exchange in the EP on Russia`s warfare on Ukraine’s energy sector and Albania 2025 • 9. April • 1 min Share Russia is waging energy warfare. At today’s ITRE committee I had an exchange with the Ukrainian parliaments Energy Committee and stressed: Ukraine has lost 2/3 of its power generation. This isn’t collateral — it’s a strategy to freeze, cripple, and destabilise. Yet Ukraine continues to supply Moldova and integrate with the EU grid. That’s resilience. The EU must treat energy security as a frontline priority. We need emergency support — and we need to rebuild now: decentralised, modern, EU-integrated. https://rihardskols.lv/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/EnergySector.mp4 At the Foreign affairs committee I held an Exchange of views on the political situation in Albania in light of the upcoming parliamentary elections. I focused my intervention on how the EU can support Albania in ensuring free and fair elections, given the current state of a lack of media freedom, misuse of state resources, and intimidation. https://rihardskols.lv/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Albania.mp4 Share Latest news View all News Special Importance of the Three Seas Region 2025 • 15.
