Resolution on Russia’s disinformation and historical falsification 2025 • 23. January • 1 min Share The European parliament adopted a resolution strongly condemning the Russian regime’s systematic falsification of historical facts to justify its illegal war of aggression against #Ukraine. The Kremlin’s refusal to acknowledge and take accountability for Soviet-era crimes—while suppressing historical research and silencing public debate—has paved the way for the revival of imperialist policies. By distorting history, Russia continues to manipulate narratives to serve its criminal agenda. Europe must stand firm against these attempts to rewrite the past and weaponize history. We owe it to the victims of totalitarianism and to future generations who deserve to know the truth. Grateful to my Lithuanian colleague Rasa Juknevičienė for her leadership in ensuring this crucial issue remains at the forefront of the European Parliament’s agenda.
